Menstruation pain management with Generic Naproxen

Menstruation is the monthly uterine bleeding that normally occurs in females who are in their reproductive age. There is definite pattern of days which range from 26 to 32 days. Menstruation or menses is the normal function of the uterus. This process is quite complex and involves number of hormones. During menstruation, woman experiences some changes which include menstruation pain. Generally the pain is quite tolerable and can be treated with home remedies or over the counter anti inflammatory drug which reduce intensity of pain. The pain or cramps makes her to miss school or office and often disturb the routine life. This is the case almost with every woman having painful periods. Menstruation pain can reduce with anti inflammatory drug such as Generic Naproxen which is also used to treat acute gout and kidney stone pain. Some woman experience menstruation pain before starting her period some experiences the pain throughout the periods. Some women get home remedies to reduce menstruation pain but if the pain is increasing and annoying than it is a time to see a gynecologist who can diagnose the underlying causes and give you the accurate treatment.


Normally most of the women ignore the menstruation pain and carry their routine work. Every month uterus prepares itself for pregnancy. The preparation includes thickening of the inner wall of the uterus, endometrium. This prepares a cushion for the implantation of the embryo. If pregnancy does not occur then the inner lining, endometrial and unfertilized egg thrown out of the body in the form of menses. Normally menstruation pain occurs due to the contraction of the uterine walls which helps in the shedding of the endometrium. When the endomatrium sheds off, prostaglandin is released which brings the contraction of the uterine muscles. The high level of prostaglandin is present; the higher is the intensity of the menstruation pain. If the level of this chemical is low, menstruation pain is also mild. Along with it stress, emotional problems, lack of exercise and retroverted uterus are some factors contributing in menstruation pain. There are some home remedies which can ease the pain. If the pain does not reduce with it than you can take anti inflammatory drug known as Generic Naproxen. You can also use following home remedies.

  • You can place hot water bag over the stomach to ease the pain.
  • Drink peppermint or wintergreen tea or chewing mint candy help to reduce menstruation pain.
  • Drink hot liquids such as coffee or tea which relaxes the muscles and ease the pain.
  • Mix some parsley juice with carrot, beetroot or cucumber juice and drink it to reduce the pain.
  • Boil a piece of ginger in a cup of water, add some sugar and drink it often to reduce the intensity of menstruation pain.
  • Sprinkle your food with cinnamon powder as cinnamon has anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties.

If the pain do not get reduce with home remedies and if it getting severe in each menstrual cycle, you need to see a doctor. The pain can reduce with anti inflammatory drug, Generic Naproxen. This medication is widely used to treat acute gout and in the treatment of tendinitis. During the shedding of the endometrium, prostaglandins produce causing menstruation pain. Generic Naproxen works by blocking the enzyme that produces prostaglandins. Thus it reduces menstruation pain also pain caused in other health conditions such kidney stone pain. Naproxen 500 mg is the initial dosing to reduce pain and discomfort associated with it. But before taking Generic Naproxen, consult with your doctor.
